Storywish provides parents with a way to quickly and easily create high quality personalized children's stories to read with their kids. The goal is to spark wonder, play, joy, and connection as kids and parents experiment with new characters and story situations, until they create and refine a story that they end up really enjoying, and can then memorialize into a physical book they can keep or gift.
You can explore characters and read public stories without signing up. To create your own story, you'll need an account, which includes 2 free stories, 6 characters, and 30 edits. No credit card required on the free plan.
Create your characters, choose an art style, and let Storywish handle the rest. Most families have their first story ready in just a few minutes.
Your child becomes the hero. You build characters based on real people using names, appearances, and details that matter to your family, or you can create characters based on fiction. The story is written and illustrated around them, not just swapped into a generic template.
It depends on your plan. Free users can create 6 characters. Basic members get 10 a month and Premium members 20 a month. On the yearly plans, Digital members get 100 a year and Premium members 250 a year.
Yes. Every plan includes a set number of edits for the cover, words and pictures. Free users get 30 edits, and paid plans include more. A change that runs through the whole book uses one edit for each page or picture it changes. You can also paint over part of a picture to change only that area.
Every plan includes every art style: Illustrated, Cartoon, 3D, Anime, Crayon and Cutout. Art styles are not gated by your plan.
Each story is 8 pages plus a cover, giving you a complete illustrated book your child will want to read again and again.
Yes, if you'd like it to. Narration is optional: on a book you made, tap Add narration and each word lights up as it's read aloud. It's free on every plan, including the free one.

Yes. If you only need an extra story or character without subscribing, you can pay as you go. Pricing starts at $2 per story and $0.25 per character.
Yes. There are no long term contracts on any plan. You can cancel whenever you like.
Yes. You can order any story as a printed book on any plan, no subscription needed. Each printed book is $25, with free standard shipping to US addresses. Premium plans include printed books: 1 a month on Premium Monthly and 10 a year on Premium Yearly.
It's a professionally printed picture book of your story, delivered to your door. Each book includes a dedication page, character cast pages, and the full story. Books are 8.5 x 8.5 inch stapled softcovers, printed in full color on 80 lb coated paper with a glossy cover. You can page through the whole book on the print screen before you order.
Our printing partner takes 3 to 5 business days to print your book, then standard mail takes about 7 more to a US address. So most books arrive 10 to 12 business days after you order. The print screen shows an estimated arrival date before you order, and checkout shows the estimate for your address and the shipping speed you pick. Faster shipping is available at checkout. These dates are estimates: neither the printer nor the carrier guarantees a delivery day, so for a birthday or a holiday, please order early. We print and post books to US addresses only.
Every printed book is made to order for your family, so we can't take returns. If something goes wrong, we fix it at no cost to you:
To ask, email seth@storywish.ai with the book's title and, for a damaged or misprinted book, a photo. Your order, its status and its tracking are in your profile.
We collect what you give us to make your stories (your account details, characters, photos and story ideas), plus how the app is used, such as the pages you open and the buttons you tap. Our privacy policy lists each kind and what it's used for.
We don't sell your family's information. Your photos and character details are used only to make your stories, and the outside services that handle them, such as our AI and cloud storage providers, process them only for that. Your uploaded photo is used to create your character's portrait and is not kept afterward. In a family photo, each face is read once to fill in its own card, then the photo is deleted. We use masked session recordings to find bugs and confusing spots: they show taps and pages, never what you type or upload, and they stay off during kids' minigames. Details and the off switch are in our privacy policy.
Storywish is designed from the ground up for kids and families. Every story is generated with child safety in mind, and our AI is built to avoid anything inappropriate. That said, AI is not perfect. If a story ever feels off, you can edit it, regenerate it, or reach out to us at seth@storywish.ai and we will take care of it right away. You are always in control of what your child sees before it gets read aloud. You're also able to submit feedback in the story itself.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings.
You can purchase additional stories individually, or upgrade your plan for more. You can simply add money to your wallet in $10 increments and pay for stories, characters, edits as you go.
On a paid plan, your stories, characters and edits start fresh each billing period (monthly or yearly).
